Praise The Lord Saints,
We begin our class with prayer and spent a number of minutes ironing out some bugs in our conference call connection.

The Connection Problem
I used my desktop computer and configured it to use Skype and InnerPass. It worked great during the test run Saturday, but today, Sunday, when individuals would attempt to join the InnerPass meeting they would be disconnected. We discovered that the Skype I had installed earlier this year was not compatible with the current version of InnerPass. It required a new download and installation.

Gloria ran into a similar problem but with her sound on her desktop. She solved the problem by going to her laptop.

This Lesson is part of a Seven (7) part series on Spiritual Growth.
How important is growth? Everyone will agree that growth is important and is key to enjoying life. In all living healthy tissue the moment growth stops the tissue begins to die and other unhealthy organisms begins to thrive. This truth applies to spiritual growth. Christ puts it another way. A little leaven, leaveneth the whole lump. When healthy living organisms are malnourished the process of growth is stagnated opening the door to dysfunctional growth and possibly death.

Life will challenge you, especially when you desire and are actively participating in change. Change must happen in a child of God’s life or else they will not be happy. In this lesson we will examine the necessity of change and how change plays a key role in the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit in preparation for glory.

This Lesson is part of a Seven (7) part series on Spiritual Growth.

It is said that we are more than conquerors… and that we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us… that Christ came to give us life… and that no weapon formed against us shall prosper… and they that wait upon the Lord… weeping may endure for a night but joy… All of these words are powerful, wonderful and encouraging scriptures, especially to a struggling soul. But many of God’s people are not recipients of this glory. To some these are mere fables or things that one could hope would happen to them.

God clearly states in His word how important it is for a child of God to bear His righteousness in them. He says that our righteousness will not deliver us in the day of adversity, but His will. Join us in this powerful bible lesson as we look into the mind of God and learn what advantages a child of God has over the situations that face all mankind.

This Lesson is part of a Seven (7) part series on Spiritual Growth.
Jesus Christ said these words “…the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised…”

What does it mean to break free. What does Paul mean when he says, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty”, and Jesus says, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”.

In this lesson students will 2 Cor 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? If you’ve never been free, how do you know you are free?

I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly, these are words spoken to us by Jesus Christ before He gave his life on the cross at Calvary. His sacrifice, the impact or effectiveness of His sacrifice is still felt today and has opened a door of benefits that every child of God must take advantage of.

Unfortunately many of God’s people continue to struggle with themselves. Some faithful church goers don’t feel as though they are growing in the Lord, they love their church and the Pastor, but they have out grown the ministry. Anyone who reads the bible has an expectation of blessings, but many of God’s people don’t enjoy them and don’t know why.

Our level of belief in what Christ did for us does not hinder the blessings of God upon our lives. We don’t need more faith to enjoy more blessings. Our level of faith doesn’t increase or decease the power of God. Because God gave these to us willfully and without conditions, His promise doesn’t require your efforts, only your trust. Abraham was called righteous by God, not because he was wise in all his decisions, or because he made no mistakes. Abraham was called righteous because He believed in the promise, despite of his bad habits, misjudgments and faults and for that [faith] God counted unto Abraham for righteousness.

God will bless you despite of your faults. Hasn’t he already done so? He rains on everybody, but he treats some differently than others, or does he? When you are going through a difficult time and He pays you a visit. What changed? Your perspective of him or the circumstance? He is always there in good times and bad – but our perspective tells us otherwise.

God has sent the blessings upon all men – but many of us aren’t visually positioned to see them. There are many factors which exists in every child of God that causes concerns for both the person and others who come into contact with them. In this bible class you will learn about those things and be able to identify them and take the necessary actions which causes you to grow.

Our perceptions determine how we see God and how we interact with him and others. Our perception is a powerful instrument and is the reason for many of our problems. The Holy Ghost came to change all that.

It’s been quite sometime now since I’ve posted to my website. I’ve been busy working in multiple areas of my life preparing for a huge blessing from the Lord. I found that if you listen carefully to the Holy Spirit he will tell you it’s time to make room in your lifestyle for bigger things. Often when we don’t train ourselves to hear him or when we do hear him, we don’t know how to respond to him, He has to create problems in our lives in order for us to make immediate changes.

God says that He gave us His Spirit so that we might freely, without restraint, know the things given to us of God. Change is constant and as a child of God we must move with the Holy Spirit so that we are ready for transformation when he comes.

Anyway, I’ve been busy examining my life, reevaluating myself and determining what things fit the life God has been nudging me towards. I thank God that I’ve learned to see the signs of change. Many saints haven’t. So when difficulties come, they believe that it is God’s will for them to bear it. So they remain where they are despite God’s efforts to get their attention to leave.

This post is about people and church. I want you to leave your comments here and tell me if this is happening where you live, or it isn’t happening.

Here goes.
I’ve been in ministry since 1980. During my early years in ministry I’ve witnessed ministers competing against one another for office, seats, recognition and so forth, the aforementioned statement isn’t limited to ministers, Elder’s did the same things. The larger the church the more likely this is to happen. I didn’t participate in them, because I believed that my gift will make room for me. It does praise God.

But now we live in the year 2010. Little has changed in ministry politics, but the people have. People are no longer faithful to a single ministry. People are suffering and are restricted by church doctrine to participate in the tools of society to recover, so they participate behind closed doors (as though they are sinning). Shouting (the holy dance) in church is now a expected habit in church and no longer is an experience and power of the Holy Ghost. Those who receive the Holy Ghost are told they have it, instead of the witness of the Holy Spirit expressing Himself that he has arrived. Prayer in the church has diminished to a selected day of prayer. We no longer have time to sit with one another and read the bible to each other. Commitment to a church title and responsibilities take a back seat to other activities in our lives. There are little to no organization or detailed planning amongst the church government, everything seems to be pieced together at the last minute.

The church that was isn’t and the environment that represented the strictness of holiness no longer lives in the heart of the people. What happened? Could we blame it on the inappropriate use of power by these ministers who now govern our lives? Can we blame it on church doctrine which places emphasis on physical sanctification and outward show of holiness, yet the heart and spirit remains untouched by the experiences, perceptions, righteousness, way and thoughts of the Holy Spirit.

How do we define our time?

Let me know what you think below.

It’s 2:30AM Wednesday, April 28, 2010 and I am tossing and turning in my bed. The affects of the past weekend at the COOLJC Region 12 Conference in San Diego California is upon me. In the beginning it was physical. I was tired from not getting enough sleep, but that has now passed.

The Word of God spoken at the different classes stirs in me as I meditate on the messages that have gone across the pulpit, the one on one fellowships and conversations that I had with Apostles, Bishops and District Elder Joe Wilson our National Evangelist stirs my soul. I want more from myself and the Holy Ghost.

I learned that transparency as a man of God opens the door for others to be discipled. Everyone was transparent, except one. A Elder (Pastor) who attended a single session was disruptive, out of harmony with everything else God was doing, breaking fellowship by insisting something entirely inappropriate for the situation or topic. As the Regional Apostle was trying to explain to him what was in discussion the Elder began to become aggressive.

Thank you Lord for wisdom. Bishop Clark extinguished the situation without incident. There was an appropriate time for the brothers words, but this was not it. He took the floor from the speakers of the session and attempt to take the class in an entirely different direction.

Any way, I stopped by the Christian bookstore looking for one book and found 3, but one in particular captured my

District Elder William King Region XII Chief Technology Officer

interest. So before going to sleep I sat down and read the book. It’s titled “Small Groups, from start to finish” by Doug Fields and Matt McGill.

As I begin to read the book there is one thing on my mind, Evangelism and Discipleship. How can I do my job as a Pastor at Greater Life Church better and more effectively. In the last 8 or 12 months the Holy Spirit has been dealing with me on doing the work of an Evangelist. I have given my spirit over to him to learn and He has been directing me, rewriting my life in small pieces, line upon line and precept upon precept. Setting His word and sending His strength before my face.

It’s funny now as I think about the different points in my life my loyalty to Him has been tested. When you love the Lord and want to know the Lord intimately and as you grow in your relationship with Him he will test your loyalty. It is then you realize who He is to you. Some of you all know what I’m talking about. Things get heated and at a time when you would take control by blowing up, you hold your peace because He told you too.

Here I am at the bookstore looking at this book which costs $49.95 and reading it’s contents. Perfect for the mission ahead. I walk to the counter and she says, Oh! this book cost you $14.00. I said, the Lord really wanted me to have this book.

I prepared myself for prayer and begin reading, meditating and praying for direction. I wanted the Holy Spirit to speak into the words of the book. I wanted to see what I could not otherwise see.

It didn’t happen until I slept a little while. Now well, 3:11 AM I sit blessed by the dreams I had of Disciplining the saints. The book says, small groups tackle the problems of an isolated culture, people with unconnected lives. Big churches do not address the needs of discipleship, the provide a way for people to remain disconnected with one another, unauthenticated and superficial living.

Small groups address needs, love, and challenges each of us to grow. This is called disciplining. It empowers the minister who is everyone. When disciples are cared for and challenged to grow in their faith, their spiritual growth causes numerical growth. Evangelism is a natural by-product of a life committed to Jesus.

I was left with these words as I laid down on my pillow. Dream with no rules. Get alone, with no distractions into prayer. Dare to dream. This entire dreaming process needs to be a conversation between you and God. Seek His wisdom and guidance for change and clarity in your steps. Begin by sacrificing your own motives and desires for God’s direction. Use this time to still yourself, wait and listen. Dream the WHAT IF, write the dream or vision on a board or in a notebook.

He author says, it is fun to dream about what God can do if there is no risk or cost involved. Write irresponsibly. He will clarify as you write and do. Allow yourself to see into God’s infinite imagination. Begin with the end. Work backwards. Start by visualizing the end result without worrying about how to get there.

I went to bed with these words in my head and I dreamed. I saw the saints change. They became disciples. The road to get there was very difficult for some because being a disciple mean that we had to meet everyday and talk about Jesus Christ and what he means to us. We met everyday to share, talk and to strengthen one another and to meet the needs of one another spiritually.

We called on one another when we FELT weak and strengthened those who did fall. Everyone was transparent. Everyone ministered to each other. We were disciples and disciplining one another. We were each others strength, like one body.

As I write, what I saw; I am now presented with this question in my mind. Was I really discipled or Not!

I came from a ministry where we were left alone to grow by any means necessary. I observed that spiritual strength was in the ability to memorize and quote scriptures. To preach with twisted words and metaphors to get the people moving and that a leader should not be transparent, funny or happy. I observed that being deep meant that I smile less, hid myself from others and spent time alone.

Yes, I made it, by the grace of God. Looking back, it appears at this late point in my spiritual life, 30 years later, I was not discipled, just filled with the Holy Ghost.
